A monograph is a paperback book that is rebound as a hardcover book, usually with title, author and call number stamped on the spine of the finished book. The original paperback cover can be bound or mounted in if requested. Although the original cover is usually removed from the book before it is bound, it can also be bound in if requested. Monographs are Mekanotched (Double Fan Glued) and, when possible, the finished books are round and backed.

A rebind is a monograph that has been previously bound with a hard cover. It can be recased using the original leaf attachment or rebound using the Mekanotch, double framing method. The title, author and call number can be stamped on the spine and, when possible, the finished books are round and backed.

Pambinds are used for a series of pamphlets, each no thicker than 1/4" (6.35 mm), bound together with the Adhesive Fan Glued method or side sewing and covered in Class B linen.
